I liked the fact that we didn’t have to do alternating hand for the DB snatches. I can do it faster with multiple reps on the same hand because, momentum hahaha. I needa figure out how to string my C2Bs :/ Always losing the momentum once I come down. C2Bs actually felt ok today cos I could get my chest to touch the bar with less effort than usual! :)

Finished slightly after 8am today but quite happy managed to finish all 10 rounds!

CF log 05/07/17 (Wed)

The right side of my lower neck area hurt today >< Somehow strained it during wod yesterday… so I actually can’t really bend my head down or tilt it to the left. It hurt when I was racking for front squat too lol. So kinda went lighter on the strength/skill today.

I’m am so so so happy that the long weekend is finally here. End of a really shitty week.

*1 rope climb = 1/2 peg board height

Partnered Whitney and we decided to go for the rope climbs instead… so I still haven’t managed to try the peg board. Was thinking to maybe try after class, but we finished with hardly time to spare before the next class used the space, so… hahah. Oh well, maybe next time then! WOD was pretty alright today actually. The clusters were the worst.

CF log 10/06/17 (Sat)

Back at cf cos my back recovered quite quickly! It was actually really painful on Thurs night cos I didn’t have time to rest/roll it till I got home quite late. It gradually got better as Friday passed so I was v happy!!

The moment I saw DUs, was like ughhh. A bit disappointed that the wod shagged me out so much though! Cos it looked so manageable! Anny and I were one of the last pairs to finish D: I think it’s cos I was a bit slow actually… couldn’t string my pistols and DB snatches fast enough. At least I didn’t trip too much in DUs otherwise would be even slower!

New week. Back to the 5-day work week life.

Those who didn’t go for class yesterday did the partner wod, while the rest (like me) did another wod.

Was quite happy that I managed to do 3 reps of the 51.8kg one! A bit unstable at the last rep, but still made it :D

I think I only did 4 rounds + 6 HSPU (cos combined all the HSPUs of 4th and 5th round). But idk everyone else seemed to be already done with 5? So not sure if I counted wrongly (i.e. should have alr been at last round but I thought I was at 4th), or I was just damn slow?? :/ Even my ring dips were not that slow today. But anyway it was alr 8am when I finished what I thought was my 4th round. So I just stopped anyway lol.

Made it to cf today haha. It was such a long wod?! Based on TWO Regionals events. I think I took between 50min to 1hr to complete everything.. and not even rx :(

Did this in order. Mostly ok except DUs in my second round. Idk why I kept tripping after ONE skip!!! Which was very frustrating and wasted a lot of time. MEH.

Oh, and I didn’t bring a knee sleeve to protect my shin against rope climbs so… borrowed Anny’s after she was done ^^” Yay thank you partner! :D

Idk how Whitney did 45kg all the way. I was really dying at my weights… Side note, my barbell cycles are quite slow lol.

Today’s wod was a killer. I finished after 8am. I think around 810am.

Tbh, I already felt like dying after the first 1500m row. Did goblet squats in sets of 10, and switched hands every 5 reps for the snatches. I had sooo much rest in between cos the wod was really baaad >< I know it’s a crazy wod when I sweat so much even my shorts get sweaty LOL.

Damn shag today cos I did double wod; together with Anny.

First, it was wod in the usual 9am class. We did a modified version of 17.1 while those who signed up did the actual one (of course).

What we did in class:

“17.1” (modified) –
Power snatch [(65#)]
10 burpee box jumps after each round [24″]

Shared the bar with Anny, I finished in 30:48. It was tiring ><

After wod, went to watch those who signed up do the actual 17.1, then Anny and I felt like doing too hahaha.

SO WE DID. After we rested at least half an hour, and everyone who signed up was done with their turn. We did the wod side by side; it was good to have someone to pace!

“17.1” (actual) –

Both of us managed to finish within the time cap! :D I finished in 19:26, and Anny 19:59. YAY! Really damn tired after doing now haha. Thankful for all the cheers and support we got! Esp could hear Shawn and Whitney’s encouragements haha.

We finally understood why some of those we watched were starting to do “strict” DB snatches (e.g. not using legs to jump/get under)… cos it is damn shag! Need to save your legs for the burpee part xD And actually towards the end I was so “annoyed” that I had to keep bending so low to snatch the dumbbell up LOL #tallpeopleproblems

As I did the wod, I also found out that although, theoretically, it’s really good to keep low for the jump overs, but having to squat on the box and cross over made your legs tired after a while. So I really wanted to stand! There was some reps I stood a little higher, or after jumping off from the box stood and rested a while before I resumed burpees lol.

When I finished (or so I thought), I saw everyone still doing the wod. So I think I may have miscounted the lunges…. lol. But I tried to make up for it by doing another 10 reps (5L,5R) for each hand :P Lunges were the worst >< but after the first set it got a bit more stable so ok haha.
